Full Video - On May 17, 2026, the Lalonde Family Initiative celebrated its third annual Scholarship Ceremony at Pike's Place in Brasher Falls, NY. This year, LFI awarded $70,000 in scholarships to four outstanding St. Lawrence Central student-athletes: Mary-Cate Dow, Sophia Guerard, Maddyson Bernard, and Brian Eggleston.

We met up with Al Tower Jr. — successful St. Lawrence Central alum and standout basketball player whose journey continues to inspire the community he grew up in.
LFI is proud to announce a generous donation from Al Tower Jr. and NuMED Inc., launching a new partnership that will enrich our scholarship program through the Allen Tower Jr. Scholarship, as well as support other LFI priorities.

On June 28, 2024, the Lalonde Family Initiative (LFI) celebrated its inaugural Scholarship Ceremony at Pike's Place in Brasher Falls, NY. LFI awarded scholarships to three outstanding St. Lawrence Central student-athletes: Austin Mason, Ella Bellinger, and Kalissa Young.

June 13-19, 2026 - The Lalonde Family Initiative awarded $70,000 in 2026 scholarships to four St. Lawrence Central High School senior athletes: Mary-Cate Dow ($30,000, inaugural Allen Tower Jr. Scholarship recipient), Sophia Guerard ($20,000), Maddyson Bernard ($10,000), and Brian Eggleston ($10,000, inaugural Bob Lalonde Scholarship Award, established in memory of Chairperson Karen Lalonde Ice's father). All four were recognized for excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and community service, and were celebrated at a scholarship ceremony held May 17 at Pike's Place. The recipients will attend Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Rochester Institute of Technology, St. Bonaventure University, and Clarkson University respectively, pursuing degrees in fields including pre-health/biology, computer engineering, nursing, and aerospace engineering.

JULY 4-10, 2025 - The Lalonde Family Initiative is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 scholarship awards totaling $40,000 to support three exceptional student-athletes from St. Lawrence Central High School as they pursue their higher education goals.
The 2025 scholarship recipients are:

• Emma Montgomery - $10,000 award
• Alexis Smith - $10,000 award
